Building Inara | The Corrupted
Soldiers of Golal's Army . . .
As you travel Inara my friend, there is the unfortunate possibility you may run into monsters.
Monsters didn’t always exist on Inara, although dangerous animals always have. Monsters are the result of the War of Betrayal, when Golal began twisting plants and animals of the world into horrors.
The worst of the Monsters you might encounter is the Corrupted.
The Corrupted
These are humans who traded their humanity for a measure of Golals power. They are marked by green decaying flesh that falls off their bones, and a bright green gas leaking from their mouth. These creatures typically travel in packs, hunting people and animals.
Corrupted need no food, water, or rest, and have no real goal other than the destruction of Inarans and the planet. They feed on Riith Root to fuel their Curses, the rootlike fungus that grows off of dead things.
How to Spot Them
Corrupted are fairly easy to spot. Corrupted will wrap themselves in bandages to protect their tender flesh from the sun and wind. If you see a group of people wrapped in bandages, carrying gruesome looking blades, you will want to hide until they move on.
Corrupted have surprisingly good senses, and can see great distances. In the desert, it is hard to find cover, so the best thing is to be wary. If you see them a long way off, lay down as flat as you can until they are a dot on the horizon.
How to Fight Them
It’s a hard thing to fight Corrupted, if you’re not a Creation Priest, or at least able to use Prayer Powers. The average Inaran has a high likelihood of getting cut by their blades, or just touched and cursed.
If you do have to fight Corrupted, keep your distance and use a ranged weapon. Corrupted Curses can be anything from sickness, to paralysis, and getting cursed can only be reversed by a healing Prayer from a Yomatan or YOM’s Blessing from a Creation Priest.
If you get hit once, that could be it.
I can tell you more about the Curses later, but for now, steer clear of these abominations. You’ll be better for it. Oh, and don’t get it in your head that they are still people. The Spirit has left the body, that’s just Golal’s power that makes them move like that.
Stay safe, and may His Light guide you ☀️

Thanks for the valuable information! Now, if I ever visit Inra, I’ll know how to handle the situation (though I hope I never have to).
